Mellow Yellow Monday / Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona, USA

I took a 5 day trip to Arizona and just returned home this evening. I found some yellow in these photos to post for Mellow Yellow Monday (a day late). These views are from Mather Point on the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. It was about 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 21, 09. It was sunny, windy and cold. The overnight temperatures were 15-16 degrees.

The top photo shows Plateau Point which is accessed from the Bright Angel Trail. I hiked down to this point several years ago for a spectacular view of the Colorado River below. You can see the trail as it leads out to the point. That is the easy part of this hike. Climbing back up to the rim is another story! We just took a short hike on the Bright Angel Trail on this trip...for old time's sake.

Love the foreground in the last one - the paler layering of the rocks.
