That's My World Tuesday / Bright Angel Trail at the Grand Canyon

My friend and I took a short hike down the Bright Angel Trail at the Grand Canyon just to enjoy it...rather than get beat up by it! There were hikers returning from several nights at the bottom of the canyon. How I would love to get all the way down there but, carrying a pack and the climb back up, MAN I don't think I could hack it. My son has been down there numerous times and has done the white water rafting too. I have been down to Plateau Point and that was far enough to know that the hike back up can really kick your #@$%! I am posting photographs of the mules, serious hikers and casual hikers. I think you will be able to tell who is who? It was about 2:00 in the afternoon, just a week ago (November 21, 09) so their return to the rim at this time of the afternoon was very smart!

Oh, that does look like such fun and it is soooo beautiful! I don't usually admit to being too old to do much of anything, but have to admit this would be one of them! So, it's fun to have someone take me via photos and it is beautiful! Thanks for the trip!

Have a great week!

How fun! I've been wanting to do this type of activity, but the problem is coming back up! Last week my knee gave way, so no hiking for me for a while.

I have hiked to Indian Gardens a couple of times but never in the fall. I can see from your shots that this is the best time to go.

I took a good look at the hikers in case my friends were among them! I like the photo of the guy carrying the red backpack - he seems on a mission.

Oh what I would give to do that hike with you. Between Geogypsy and your photos a Grand Canyon hike is getting closer to the top of my Bucket list. Thanks for such great shots and sharing your enjoyment of this adventure!

Great pictures of the Bright Angel trail, They bring back some memories of my trip. Didn't the trail look small in places for those donkeys?

Oh these photos bring back memories! Partway down, I recall being told by our guide to close my eyes at steep twisty places on the trail because that's what the mules do. Sheesh ;-)
Hugs and blessings,
