Sunday Stills, Scenic Sunday, Mellow Yellow and Today's Flowers / "Beaches" Cottage

This is the cottage that was used in the film Beaches, starring Bette Midler and Barbara Hershey.
The film was released in the mid-80's.
The fencing was not there back in those days,
but is now to keep people off the property until after the restoration of the cottages that line the beach at Crystal Cove, California.
They are in the second phase of the restoration...this little gem will be available for rent in the not too long future.
Other restored cottages can take up to a year to get a reservation...at least for the summer months.

Here you can see that it is just footsteps from the ocean.
It was a warm but very gloomy day on the beach last week.
But, not the case today...the sun has made its appearance!

Sunday Stills
The theme is summer.

The beach sounds like a good idea give the heat. Maybe I'll head for the ocean, too.

What a great cottage, I loved that movie... Like the way you processed these too.

You know, if you're looking for yet another photo project this shot would also work perfectly for Summer Stock Sunday. I'm just sayin'... ;)

This cottage has a very rustic look to it. Hope you'll show us the finished, renovated version.

word verification is 'emote' - how apt, has anyone ever not emoted while watching that movie!!

The fence looks like the old snow fence that we had when I was a kid. I made a horse arena out of it. The beach house looks calm, realistic, hard to explain...

With it being so close to the ocean I would love to stay there for awhile. I remember the movie and loved it.

These photos reminded of me the cottage, where I spent overnight with my friends in Molokai, one of the Hawii Islands. The beach was not as accesible as this cottage, though.

Lovely photos of the cottage.

Happy MYM.

Given their location on the California coast, I'm sure they'll command a pretty penny when the rental signs get posted.

The fence doesn't seem to be secured in the ground. They can't be keeping chicken, otherwise the chicken will run away. LOL

Can't keep the paparazzi away too. Did you here about the 13 years old paparazzi?

Interesting! Glad they're restoring it! Must be worth bucks! Thanks for stopping by - you're right, new England was hot, hot, hot!
