Today's Flowers, Ruby Tuesday / Red Bougainvillea

There is a lot of red bougainvillea that line the water's edge in Long Beach, California, USA.
This shot was taken looking across Rainbow Harbor at downtown Long Beach and the Shoreline Village.

The red of the flowers look very good against the deep blue of the water; love the ripples in the water too.

Very good framing! It is true that things red can become an effective accent in a photo.

Love that colour! And the photo! In our area magenta is the shade commonly seen.

Long Beach has some really lovely areas! Two of my 3 sons live there; all 3 went to CSULB. These bougainvilleas remind me of my childhood home in San Bernardino--we had one in the front yard and one in the back yard. I was fascinated with their 3-petalled loveliness.

I love how you used the flowers as frame for your picture, so pretty! Bougainvilleas are plentiful here, as they thrive in our hot climate.

Red bougainvillea growing wild (or not) on the edge of the sea! I'm so jealous! I love that shrub so much but it just does not grow where I live in Canada. Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful shot Carolyn, in the Philippines we have different colors of Bougainvillea and because of the thorns this flower has many make it as a fence ^_^ Happy Tuesday!
