Scenic Sunday / Caymen Islands, July 2009

These are my nieces in the Caymen Islands last summer.
I just have to share this beautiful scene of pinks, yellows, and blues!
I wasn't there (unfortunately) so, I didn't take the photo.
The pink kayak and Janelle's pink drink...
I can't believe how color coordinated this all is!

Weekend Reflections / Snowy Egrets at Bolsa Chica Wetlands, California

I am always fascinated with this water bird, the Snowy Egret.
It is usually easy to spot them at the Bolsa Chica Wetlands (Ecological Reserve) along the coastal region of Southern California.
This guy produced some great reflections and I want to share several of my shots of this fascinating bird.

He was very busy rummaging around looking for something good to eat.

"I think I see something!"

"And, I'm out of here!"

SkyWatch Friday and Looking at the Sky on Friday / In Flight

The pier at Seal Beach, California

After the morning haze lifted a nice blue sky appeared along the southern California coastal areas.
I photographed these seagulls flying over the pier at Seal Beach at about 2:00 in the afternoon,

Ellipsis Monday Photo Shoot / A Peaceful Place

I spent the day with my little grandson by the ocean today.
We walked and walked along the shores of the Bolsa Chica Wetlands and Ecological Reserve in southern California.
This is a wonderful place for anyone interested in bird watching or photography.
There are several hundred different species of birds that migrate here throughout the year.
My interest was the Snowy Egret.

I took a whole lot of photos of this guy!
I'll post more on the Weekend Reflections meme Friday morning.
This is my wonderfully peaceful place.
I shall return!

Wordless Wednesday / Moon, Clouds and Telephone Wires

Outdoor Wednesday / There's a Moon Out Tonight

This was the "almost" full moon the last weekend of January 2010.
I viewed this from the street in front of my house.

Watery Wednesday / Tin Art

This is actually a piece of art constructed from tin...
it reminds me of the
Alan Jackson/Jimmy Buffett song,
"It's Five O'Clock Somewhere"!

ABC Wednesday / "C"

I contemplated buying these colorful floating spheres, but, they weren't cheap!

The letter is C for this week.

Three or More Tuesday / Colorful Spheres

The artist of these very colorful spheres suggested that they should be displayed on a shelf or table top in the home.
A new image appears any time they are even slightly turned.
They were quite pricey, too!
I saw them at the Southwest Art Festival

That's My World Tuesday / Some Artists to Meet

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed this past weekend at the Southwest Art Festival in Indio, California.
I had a fabulous time with my camera!
I have posted several art pieces that caught my eye and have so much more to post over the days to come.  Meeting some of the artists was very special.
I am posting some of them at work with their craft on this post.

This little girl enjoyed watching this artist for quite a long time.

We were so amazed at the beautiful photography displayed here.
The photographer, Youssef Ismail, is from northern California and hosts weekend photo trips to breath taking places.
I thought this camera was just an "old" camera on display for historical purposes.
I was wrong!
This camera belongs to the photographer and is used exclusively.
 No digital for this photographer!

I have his card and website link just in case I decide to go on one of the weekend trips.
   Youssef Ismail's website is: http://www.organiclightphoto.com/
The photography on this website is breath-taking and well worth a visit!
He joked about people spending more time photographing him with this camera than taking their own photographs of the amazing landscape before them!

And, this man!
Wow!
What hauntingly beautiful sounds came from this flute...
which he crafts himself.

Our little grandson likes to sleep on our bed for his naps.
He loves his blue cloud blanket!
