Camera Critters / Meet My Friend...Mr. Bobcat!

I had the golden opportunity to run face to face into this bobcat while on my trip to Arizona. My friend had gone into our room, which has an outside entrance. I was lingering outside with my camera and taking pictures of the beautiful well lit red rocks of Sedona during sunset. Suddenly I looked up to see this bobcat staring at me withing 30 feet of where I was standing. I froze like a statue! I never thought of taking a picture of it because I didn't want to take my eye away from what it was doing...I think you know what I mean! Soon it just sauntered off and left the property and headed out into the desert. I told the people who run the small resort and they said this little bobcat cruises through their property quite often. They pulled up it's photo from their computer and emailed it to me so I would have the photo when I returned home...so, here it is! It's a little blurry but, I can imagine the blurry image I would have gotten with my shaky hands!

I guess that means a bobcat isn't aggressive unless its fearful or feels cornered. I actually feel so lucky to have seen it like this...but, I was quite nervous!

Hi Carolyn;my comment here seem to disappear! See comment on Scenic Sunday post of yours below. BTW, I'd not have photographed the bobcat either for fear of the camera shutter triggering a negative response/reaction from the animal!

What an experience that must been. I think I'd have kept my eyes on him and not the camera as well. It's great that you were able to obtain a photo of this critter.

Wow, lucky you to have the Bobcat sighting. It was nice that the resort sent you the photo. But I am sure you will not forget the image of the Bobcat.

The encounter with a wild bobcat must have been scary but it might have been a kind of luck for you to see it face to face!!(laugh)

You were so privileged! But, oh gosh, I would have been nervous too! They might not be the size of a lion or tiger, but I bet they could inflict some damage if they wanted.

How lovely of the lady to email you a picture. :)
