Watery Wednesday / Oak Creek Canyon, Arizona

This is Oak Creek Canyon that runs through Sedona, Arizona. It was late afternoon with the sun hiding behind the high rock walls creating a lot of shade down at the creek. The running water is rather low this time of year but is full in the spring and summer when the snow melts in the Flagstaff area north of here. I wish we could have been in this area one week earlier for even better fall colors...but, it's still better than southern California!

I used to run to a place like the pictures above each time I felt lonely (in my younger years when life was hard). Love the serenity of the memory that comes with your post. Thank you.

Mine is here
