Today's Flowers / Temecula Valley Vineyards

We spent yesterday at a grape vineyard in Temecula Valley, California.  After looking around in the gift shop, purchasing some champagne for Christmas Eve and New Years Eve and enjoying a little wine tasting, we enjoyed walking around outside and taking pictures of the fall colors down in the vineyards.  I saw this plant along the way.  I have no idea what it is but, it is so perfectly suited for growing out here in "wine" country.

As much as I love living back in Virginia, seeing your pictures makes me miss living in Mission Viejo just a little bit - especially knowing that one could be in Temecula in a couple of hours - I love going there to purchase wines. Here it's almost a 2 hour drive to get to one winery.

Merry Christmas,
Lynn

I like the green and red-purple colors; your DOF is quite good too.

Beautiful shot!
I agree that it is perfectly suited for wine country. It mimics the grapes.

The plant below with a hanging flower looks familiar to me. Seems to belong to a family (it's at the tip of my tongue) where we used the leaves in cooking soup.

In our vernacular term, we call it Colitis (not the illness of a tummy bug) ...and they grow in the farm and are classified as weeds.

Interesting post Carolyn because I love champagne and wine and cheese tasting... in a vineyard cellar.

Have a safe and blessed season.

HI Carolyn!

Great captures. It looks familiar but don't know the name. I've seen it in my hometown where I grew up.

That is a very interesting photo. Thanks. I am always amazed by the way flowers and plants adapt to survive. If we could do the same as beautifully!

I like the composition of this photo. The color of the flower is vivid and the images in the background is blurry. Today is December 24 in Japan. Merry Christmas to you and your family!
