Watery Wednesday / Dry Lake Bed, Stateline, Nevada, USA

This DRY lake bed is on Interstate 15 just before the California/Nevada state line on the California side.
It had lots of water from recent heavy rains on Friday, February 12, 2010 with beautiful mountain and tower reflections.
On our return on Monday, February 15, 2010 the lake bed was DRY again...only muddy.
The water just sinks into the sandy bottom.
People like to come out here to sand sail when it's completely dry, which is most of the year.

Love the mountain views and reflections too. Just like the snow in the desert, they disappeared when we left!

This is awesome. I've never EVER seen the area with standing water before. Always so very arid when we've driven through.

Mine today is OCEAN SPRAY Do come visit me if you can find time. :o)
