Shadow Shot Sunday #67 / Oldest Church in the City of Los Angeles

This little Catholic church is in the historic part of Los Angeles adjacent to Olvera Street. It is the oldest church in Los Angeles and still very active today. My picture of the church is, unfortunately, lop-sided...a problem I have to work on with my photography. But the little walk-way on the right leads into a beautiful little plaza covered with a rippled canopy. The shadows are awesome in there. A mother was escorting her little daughter inside to a baptism that afternoon.

The canopy is beautiful, as well as the shadows it casts! Love the picture of the little girl all dressed up for her baptisim. How sweet.

Wonderful shadows...I had to look 2 or 3 times because they almost look like a textured carpet or waves. Very interesting!!

It is a great shadow shot! I like the picture in which a mother and her daughter are walking on the shadow cast by the rippled canopy.

Great shots Carolyn! Last month we were here and we did not see the canopies! Maybe because of the heat. Great photos for the theme!

Those are some remarqueable shadows. I've been to Olvera Street several time but never visited the church.

How very lovely.

I'm sure Los Angeles and its bright sunshine affords many shadow shot opportunities.

Marvelous photo series of Olvera Street. It's been YEARS since I've taken time to visit ... and I'm adding a trip to my 'to do' list right now so I won't forget ;--)
