That's My World Tuesday / Christmas Lights

We have a local community that goes all out with their holiday outdoor lights. Our family and extended family have made it a tradition to spend time together enjoying the long walk through this neighborhood to view the upscale homes and their creativity with lights. It was cold last night and the rain held off until we returned home. (I know you folks from the cold climates will laugh when I say this... California is cold) But...it was cold out last night! We bundled up, drank hot chocolate and had a merry time together. I photographed some of my favorite images along the way. I really liked the house with the "tropical" theme since my husband and I are big Jimmy Buffet fans! I tried to photograph larger scenes, but, without a tripod...it was for nothing. They all were too blurry to post. But, we managed to get a few family shots of our daughter, her husband and their little guy (our grandson). and my husband and myself...I edited our photo to nearly black and white, just because I got that bright idea. My husband is clenching his teeth because he said his nose was cold...go figure?

I love the Hawaiian themed decor! Shorts and hula skirts in the winter, how cool is that!

People have all this in their yards? Wow. Now that's work and dedication. Your photos turned out well, very nice in fact.

Lovely shots!
Nice to 'meet' the whole family. :)
The Hawaiian shirted Santa is my favorite with your grandson. That's a perfect California Christmas shot.

Great photos!! Having lived in Southern California, I know what you mean about being cold. My hubby and I would make hot spiced cider, put on our winter coats, put the top down on my convertible and cruise the wonderful Christmas lights - many which were done professionally. We always enjoyed it and seeing your beautiful photos brought back fabulous memories for me.

Have a wonderful Christmas,
Lynn

Having spent time in Southern California this time of the year I can vouch for the fact it does get downright chilly.

I love all the displays, Santa looks really happy standing under a palm tree.

I am happy to see the recent photo of your family members. I can see that Jerry is clenching his teeth. It looks colder there than here in Kyushu, Japan. It was very cold on the high mountains yesterday, though.

Carolyn: Fun trip around your warm Christmas displays. What you consider cold would only be nippy in Ohio.

Carolyn; what a fun post and it is "nippy" in Ohio this morning
