Weekend Reflections / Water Reflections on Lake Mead, Nevada

Lake Mead lies in the states of Nevada and Arizona.
It is a startling contrast of desert and water, mountains and canyons and primitive backcountry.
People flock here for boating, fishing, swimming and water-skiing year round.
Please click on photos to enlarge!

All was peaceful, until...

these people started tossing bread!

That red-headed bird was a new one to me, but then it probably is native to America.

Throwing bread to the birds is asking for trouble :-)

PS I have both a bench and a reflection this week ;-)

These are great. It's fun to watch thunder storms in the mountains around there. I like all of these but I'm really drawn to the cool looking redheaded bird.

Lucky you to find Redhead duck and a paddle boat in the same spot. The paddle boat must be a nice way to enjoy Lake Mead.
Your photos are splendid, Carolyn.

As I love gulls, I'd choose the pictures with them; But it's true that the little red duck is lovely!

I was going to say which one I like best, but I like all of them. What kind of duck (it is a duck isn't it?) is the one with the red head?

Gorgeous reflection photos.
Despite the redhead swimming in the clear water captured all my attention, all the photos are wonderful.

Lovely and varied reflections!
I'm leaning toward the first being my favorite with the colorful reflections; but I love the birds along the shoreline as well.

You must have had a really wonderful trip!

Stupidly enough I don't associate Nevada with water ;- Love these, especially the first one.

Gorgeous views of Lake Mead. We also like to get out of town explore during the day when we visit Vegas.

I love photographing birds, too. This lake reminded me of visiting Lake Powell, Arizona.
