Kennedy Space Center, (NASA)The Vehicle Assembly Building May 18, 09

This huge building is where the Space Shuttles are taken after returning back to Earth. They are repaired and prepared for the next mission. They are taken down the "crawlerway" when it is time to set them on the launch pad. The time on the crawlerway can take 24 hours or more because they move so slowly. You can see the crawlerway on the sign in the next post. Part of it is visible in this picture in the foreground.
