Lee Vining Creek / Mammoth Lakes & Eastern Yosemite Trip (July 20-24, 2009)

Lee Vining Creek runs below the Tioga Pass on the eastern side of Yosemite. It is a popular fishing area with tall aspens and redwoods lining the banks. I want to return in the fall season when the aspens are ablaze with color!

I wanted to get a picture of the butterfly with it's wings open but, the butterfly just wouldn't cooperate! I found a crazy old log that had much more personality!

The old log looks like a turtle's head. The other day I saw a picture of a log which looks like an old dog's head! Natural wonders!
