Outdoor Wednesday, SkyWatch Friday / Freight Trains Rolling Through the Mountain Passes, High Desert, California USA

Freight trains roll through the mountain passes of the high desert in southern California.
My home is on the other side of those snow capped mountains.
The Silverwood Lake area is still very colorful this 11th day of May, 2010.
It was so sunny and breezy, and the blue sky was perfect!

This is the second blog post that I've seen today and both had trains. I really like this train and the surrounding scenery. I really should get some train shots myself because these look great!

"did the man pose for you or did you sneak the shot and run like @#%^?"

None of the above. I went there to take pictures of the building and I didn't have time to wait for him to get out of the shot. :)

Love the angle on the first image. Happy skywatching.

This looks like it's a shot from a film - completely different from a British train (they aren't normally moving!) xo

I love to watch the trains. We stopped by the Tehacapi loop a few months ago to watch but I wasn't satisfied with any of my shots. Yours are great.

Hi, I love watching and photgraphing trains, but I don't like travelling in them - don't know why, just don't. Nice shots

I love the contrast between the desert flats and the snow-covered mountains. Definitely not a combination we see in Israel.

Makes me dream of taking a train to nowhere. Your mountains are still very white, yet that clear blue sky looks warming.

Heisann!'
The train provides an extra dimension to the landscape that reminds a lot of my own country.
Mountains and sea are great motives any where...
Have a nice week ;:OD)
