The California state flower is the California Poppy.
They are blooming quite profusely around the state right now.

The theme is "state flower."

Yellow poppies! How pretty. I'm guessing these are more popular to grow in warmer climates than ours - I remember photographing poppies when we visited Jerusalem.

They are blooming here, too. Not much longer, though, the sheep are back doing there mowing.

I had poppies in my garden last summer but they were very pale pink. I think I like these better.

I love poppies, but ours are gone now. I did not know that a poppy is your state flower.

Hi Carolyn :)

Gotta LOVE poppies! They are everywhere right now, and they always remind me to smile. :) Thanks so much for sharing. :)

I wish we had poppies in our yard. Those look so cheerful.

oh so beautiful. I think by far the california golden poppy is the prettiest of all the poppies.
