Sunday Stills / Flowers or Wild Flowers, Brenda's Photo Challenge / Flowers

There are still clumps of California Poppies out in the Silverwood Lake area of southern California USA.
The temperatures will soon rise out there and all traces of these beauties will be gone until next spring.

Lovely poppies...that's a flower I haven't seen in years. I like the fence and hills in the background. Have a great Sunday!

The white in the fence & clouds really add pop to the picture. Good job!

I was thinking of shooting the poppies in our neighborhood, but forgot my camera when I walked that area this week!

Nice image Carolyn! I like the way the fence goes through it and gives perspective.

They're still looking good up here, if you can see them. This cool, damp spring has made the grass grow so high that the wildflowers are hidden. The sheep are back for another mow and will take care of the grass and flowers both.

Know knowing much about flowers, other than they are very pretty, I like the shapes and color on these. They look like cups of butter, but I don't think they are buttercups.

They seem so festive to me. How sad they will soon be gone but, as you say, they'll be back next spring!

Lovely shot. I keep saying I'm going to plant poppies but haven't gotten around to it. Maybe, next year will be the one.

Gorgeous poppies! They are so hard for me to grow! Don't know why I have such a hard time, but I do love them! Thanks for sharing!
