Today's Flowers, Shadow Shot Sunday / Desert Wildflowers, Anza Borrego Desert State Park, California USA

I saw a lot of these orange daisy like flowers while photographing the desert wildflowers at Anza Borrego Desert State Park last weekend.
It was late afternoon and the light was illuminating their faces, but, I wanted to photograph them from their backsides to capture their transparency with perfect light like this.

I love this time of day on the desert!

The desert is beautiful this time of the year, a perfect day for taking shots! The bright colors are just shouting out with joy!

The orange petals are brilliant, the shadows adding an almost amber highlight to each flower. I would love to see the desert in bloom, but the only time I was in the AZ desert was in the Summer - by then, the color has disappeared in the very hot climate. So your views are to savor!

These are absolutely gorgeous! Love the vibrant colours and I can´t believe there are such beautiful flowers in the desert, but I have read that due to lots of rain, the flowers are blooming very good this spring. Thanks for sharing!

I didn't see these on my visit. They are lovely with the light shining through.

Those sculptures were on Di Giorgio Rd, I think at Big Horn Rd. I thought I saw some other sculptures further on down Big Horn but didn't investigate. The van doesn't turn in short distances and I didn't know were Big Horn went.

These flowers are so rich and vibrant. I love how the sun changes the petals creating different shades of orange.
