Watery Wednesday, Ellipsis Monday Photo Shoot (Animals) / Pelicans on the Santa Monica Pier, Santa Monica, California USA

These feet just arrived for a landing on the Santa Monica Pier.

They belong to this lovely creature.

 I can't help it.
I have to photograph every pelican I see.
Their sweet eyes are irresistible.

This one is a beauty!

I love these fabulous birds with the great personalities!

The theme is "animals."

Very impressive shots Carolyn!
That first one could be a scene from a Jurassic Park movie. :) I love it and the fifth shot especially.
My what a wingspan!

Me too, me too!!! Y'know tho, this is the first time I've ever seen a pelican land on something that is so narrow as the bar in your first photo.

I have a slide show of pelicans on my blog just three entries down. I love 'em too.

And on my photo blog I added a pelican photo. LOL

Your shots really do show off their pleasant faces, Carolyn. It took me a few minutes to figure out that the first shot was his feet on the railing, Well done!

I could not say why
pelicans were whispering
while the dolphins danced.

What a great photo of the close-up of the pelican's web. You got me hungry. The feet look like duck feet which is a chinese delicacy.

Nice. I've never seen a pelican in person. That's what I get for living in the midwest I guess. :)
